Migration journalism is much more than a specialization. At porCausa, we know this well —we’ve been producing high-quality information on migration for over a decade. We believe that information is a key tool for democracy against polarization and impunity.
We have a diverse team of journalists and work alongside national and international media outlets, with whom we publish regularly (check out our clipping at the bottom of this page).
All our reporting is done with a gender perspective, and we prioritize stories that often go unheard amid the daily news cycle. We conduct investigative journalism on issues such as the Migration Control Industry (MCI) and border externalization.
Since 2018, porCausa has organized the world’s only International Congress on Migration Journalism – a space for dialogue and reflection around the production of migration-related content that brings together over 150 international journalists every year.
Our goal is to foster an innovative and in-depth debate about migration coverage. This Congress takes place in Mérida (Spain) is a safe working and networking space that has led to the creation of a journalistic network of more than 200 journalists from around the world.
The narrative and media impact of the Congress is significant, and since its inception, it has become a landmark event in the field of journalism. If you want more information about the Congress, visit our website.
The porCausa team of journalists protects its sources following the highest standards of journalistic ethics. We document, verify, and fact-check all the information we publish in the media we collaborate with.
